Na Wahine Pa‘ani O Punahou

Supporting Punahou athletics since 1975, Pa‘ani's mission is to support and promote athletic participation throughout all grade levels at Punahou and to enhance the girls athletic programs.

Membership and Involvement

Your participation is vital in supporting excellence in Punahou athletics. Get involved by becoming a member and or contributing through one of the various committees. All are welcome!

For more information on becoming a member, please see the Pa‘ani Membership Application. If you are interested in getting involved in a certain Pa‘ani initiative, contact the committee chair directly (see committees below).

Carnival Flower Booth

The Pa‘ani Flower Booth at Punahou’s Carnival is a favored tradition and the largest fundraising opportunity for the organization. Each year has been a huge success thanks to our Flower Booth Committee and their coordinating efforts between the dedicated donors, transportation sponsors, and booth volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved by becoming a donor, sponsor, and or volunteer, please contact the Flower Committee Chair (see committees below).

Punahou Athletic Hall of Fame

Initiated in 1980 by the O-Men, and revived in 2008 by both O-Men and Pa‘ani, the Punahou Athletic Hall of Fame honors exceptional lifetime athletic achievement. Inductees have their names listed on the Hall of Fame koa plaque that hangs at the entrance of the Punahou Athletic Office.

Student Awards

Every year, the O-Men and Pa‘ani organizations jointly present athlete of the year awards to a sophomore boy and girl. Known as the Na Wahine Pa 'ani o Punahou/Punahou O-Men Award, this has been presented since 1992. Other Academy awards are:

  • C. Dudley Pratt Award - Senior Athlete of the Year (since 1969), preceded by the O-Men Senior Athlete of the Year Award (1957 – 1969)
  • McEldowney Matthias Award - Junior Athlete of the Year (since 1947)
  • Billy Weaver '62 Award - Freshman Athlete of the Year (since 1959)
